Excellent tutorial. I've never replaced RAM in anything and did this first time upgrading to 8gb. And with a bit of luck the video? connector you had problems with went straight in. Everything works and no screws left over. Cheers 🙂
4:05 I just ripped mine open and it went back together fine also the motherboard on mine is bad because a main capacitor blew for some reason (keep in mind there are ribbon cables towards the front)

It's much easier to disconnect two cables from cooling fan and cable from usb/audio out board instead of vga cable. This way you just flip motherboard and battery to display side and will proceed with same operation of ram upgrade. So no need to mess with vga cable connector.
This helps alot. Can i use regular SSD sata disk to replace it with HDD ? the HHD 500gb is SUPER slow and i wanna repace it. I hope the connectors of power fit the same like the HDD does 🙂

it was a black friday sale laptop. usually they don't even offer support or specific parts for these black friday laptops. they are one time builds. i had a lenovo black friday laptop before this asus and Lenovo didn't even list it on their website as a product of theirs. They do the less amount of work and designing to make it so the hatches cost more to build than a flat back.

Too much effort required to change the RAM on this laptop. Not worth the bother in my view. Might as well get a new laptop with more RAM installed.

The screws in mine seem to have been superglued. Bought the ram and I can’t undo the screws to install it. Any suggestions?
